False Police Report
Location: 700 Block of Nuttman Street
Several officers responded to the 700 block of Nuttman Street after a caller reported two males fighting to the rear of the business. The reporting party continued to provide Public Safety Dispatchers with updates while officers were en route (e.g. suspect descriptions, suspects had armed themselves with metal poles, change in suspects location, etc.). Upon arrival, it became apparent that the caller had made a false report to Public Safety Dispatchers.
Through investigation, it was learned the same reporting party had reported a similar event earlier in the day (Case Number 19-0219027) and could possibly be the same reporting party from another incident in December (Case Number 18-1219094). With this information, officers were able to identify the suspect. A Records check revealed he had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and suspended driver’s license. The suspect was located near the location of the false incident. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
