Incidents 418 Reports 38

#022 Residential Burglary Attempt
Officers responded to the 38900 block of Swordfish Common on the report of an unknown man attempting to make entry into a residence through the rear sliding door.  The suspect fled on foot towards Walnut Ave after being confronted by the reporting party.  Officers searched the area but the suspect was not located.  The man was described as a light skinned Black male adult  wearing a light weight jacket and dark pants.

#035 Suspicious Vehicle, Possible Stolen Vehicle  - Pursuit
While conducting extra patrol checks for auto burglaries, Officer Vucurevich spotted a suspicious Ford van with Arizona plates driving slowly between parked vehicles in a parking lot off of Mission Ct.  Officer Vucurevich ran the license plate and found it was registered to a GMC.  With the suspicion the vehicle was cold plated and stolen, Officer Vucurevich attempted a traffic stop, but the van fled.  A pursuit was initiated and continued onto southbound I880 and exited to McCarthy Bl/Hwy 237 eastbound.  When the suspect came upon heavy traffic, the driver pushed through two vehicles to escape.  The suspect vehicle then turned onto the northbound I880 off-ramp traveling south, which caused the pursuit to be terminated.  Suspect vehicle was only occupied by one male described as a Hispanic, approximately 30-40 years old with brown hair.  

#041/042 Auto Burglaries
Officer Trzewieczynski investigated two auto burglaries at Papillon Restaurant on Mission Blvd. The suspect vehicle was a dark older 2-door coupe.

#008 Public Intoxication
Officer Liu arrested a 25 year old man for public intoxication after he was found lying in the roadway on Leslie St. 

#011 Commercial Burglary
CSO Anders investigated a commercial burglary on Dumbarton Dr.  Entry was made through a window broken with a river rock around 3:30 a.m.  Two males wearing dark clothing, masks, and gloves took an estimated 30 to 40 laptops.

#014 Commercial Burglary
Officer Olvera investigated a commercial burglary on Kaiser Dr.  Entry was made by breaking a window around 5:10 a.m.  Several laptops were taken by two males wearing dark clothing, masks, and gloves.  The suspect vehicle may be a black sports coupe. 

#025 Tampering with a Vehicle
Officer Olvera arrested a 24 year old transient after he was caught using a metal bar to break into a vehicle on Jason Way. 

#026 Warrant Arrest
Officer J. Roberts conducteda traffic stop and arrested the 46 year old mal driver for a felony warrant. 

#034 DUI Arrest
Officers responded to a driver slumped over the wheel of his vehicle at Stevenson/Omar.  The 28 year old male driver was arrested for DUI.  Case investigated by Officers Gigliotti and Gregory. 

#043 DUI Arrest
Officer Gerber conducted a vehicle stop on Fremont Blvd., near Alder and found the 24 year old male to be driving under the influence of alcohol.  The man was arrested for DUI and booked at Santa Rita Jail. 

#002 DUI Arrest
At 1:29 a.m., Officer Gerber was on patrol when he observed a brown Jeep Cherokee made a sudden turn at a high rate of speed.  While continuing to follow the Jeep, he noticed unsteady lane maneuvering in the lane from left to right.  He initiated a traffic stop on Fremont Blvd., near Parish Ave and contacted the 30 year old driver in the area of Parish/Fremont Blvd.  The driver was arrested for DUI and transported to the Fremont Jail.

#003 Warrant Service
Officers Dennis and Stiers responded to a family disturbance in the area of Covina Way.  The involved parties both had active warrants for their arrest for a number of offenses.  Both parties received new court dates.

#005 DUI Arrest and Posession of a Controlled Substance Arrest
At 3:13 a.m., Officer Latimer conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Niles Canyon Rd. and Mission Blvd.  His investigation resulted in a 37 year old female being arrested for DUI and later booked at Fremont Jail.

Traffic Assistance/Road Closure
Traffic Officers and CSOs spent the morning assisting with the movement of large, modular structures in the area of Automall/Fremont.  The movement caused several streets to be shut down.  There were no issues and the job was completed by 10:00 a.m.

Person Down
Food Maxx called to report that a subject stole merchandise and was  passed out, naked, in front of the store.  Food Maxx did not want prosecution and the subject was transported to the hospital for a medical problem prior to PD arriving.

#022 Warrant Service
While Officer Vucurevich was investigating an assault with a deadly weapon incident (below) that occurred in the area of Camden Street and Eggers Drive, a 37 year old man was contacted and arrested for a no-bail felony warrant.He was not involved in the assault investigation.
 
#027 Assault with a Deadly Weapon
A male was walking in the area of Eggers Drive and Camden Street when an unknown man wearing a hoody and dark clothing, ran up and hit him over the head with a 2 x 4 wooden board, knocking the victim to the ground. The suspect rummaged through the victim’s pant
pockets and left on foot after finding nothing of value. Officer Vucurevich is investigating the incident. The suspect was described as a Black male adult in his 40s.
 
#014 Public Intoxication Arrest and Probation Violation
Officers responded to the area of Mowry Avenue and Argonaut Way to conduct a welfare check on a subject who was likely intoxicated. The 49 year old man was contacted and arrested by Officer Blanchet for being drunk in public and fora probation violation before being transported to Santa Rita Jail.
