A resident on Blue Wing Drive was awakened after hearing loud noises coming from the street. When they went outside to investigate the noise, they saw 3 to 5 subjects believed to be juveniles, walking westbound on Blue Wing Drive. The witness 9-1-1 caller told the call taker one of the subjects was carrying a bat. The caller reported one of their vehicles’ windshield had been smashed and their other vehicle’s side mirror had been broken. The caller provided clothing descriptions of the subjects and reported seeing them get into a white sedan they saw driving southbound on 1st East towards the Plaza.

The information provided by the witness was immediately broadcast to Sonoma Police deputies and Sheriff’s deputies from the Sonoma Valley substation who responded to assist. As the deputies arrived in the area, a deputy observed a vehicle matching the description provided by the witness. A white sedan was seen turning eastbound onto East Spain Street from 1st Street East. The deputy initiated a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle and found it to be occupied by six juveniles and one adult male.

Another resident on Blue Wing Drive called 9-1-1 after hearing loud noises coming from the street. This caller went outside to investigate the noise and observed approximately six vehicles that were parked along the street that had their windshields smashed.

Based on the evidence obtained during the investigation, all six juveniles were arrested on charges of multiple counts of felony Vandalism (Damage to property $400 or more), Conspiracy, Minor in possession of Alcohol, and Minor in possession of Marijuana. Two of the juveniles were booked into custody at Juvenile Hall. The remaining four juveniles were issued citations and released to their parents.
