Yellow Level Travel Advisory Issued in Preparation for Possible Hazards During High Wind Warning on Sunday

A yellow level Travel Advisory has been issued for unincorporated roads in Hamilton County, effective Saturday night, February 23, in preparation for possible hazardous conditions on Sunday. This is the lowest level of local travel advisory and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation. Individuals should use caution or avoid those areas. Unincorporated roads are those roads maintained by Hamilton County, usually roads outside cities and towns.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Hamilton County on Sunday. Sustained winds of 30-40mph with gusts in the range of 50-60mph may make travel difficult, especially for high profile vehicles such as trucks, and may also cause lines and trees to block roads. Power outages may occur and unsecured outdoor objects are likely to be blown around causing potential hazards.

In case of a slide-off or crash contact Hamilton County Public Safety Communications at 317-773-1282 or 9-1-1 for an emergency.
