Jayson Robinson caught by K9 Alex, arrested on multiple charges, warrants; Eugene Bourdon arrested on felony warrant

On 2/23/19 at 4:22 a.m., Officers with the Patrol Division were patrolling the Spenard area when they noticed a suspicious person who appeared to be prowling around businesses and carrying some type of weapon.

The preliminary investigation found that an adult male suspect was checking the doors of multiple closed businesses while wielding an ice pick in the area of W 30th Avenue and Spenard Road. When a mid-shift patrol officer approached the suspect and attempted to make contact, the suspect was uncooperative and then challenged the officer with the ice pick before fleeing on foot and jumping a fence heading towards W Benson Boulevard. The officer deployed his taser, but the suspect continued fleeing.

Mid-shift patrol officers quickly set up a perimeter and the K9 Unit came in to assist with a track. K9 Officers, with assistance from K9 Alex, located the suspect in a residential area on W 29th Avenue hiding under a trailer. The suspect refused to comply with officer commands and ignored multiple K9 warnings. As he attempted to flee on foot a second time, K9 Alex apprehended the suspect and he was taken into custody.

The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Jayson Robinson. After being transported to the hospital for treatment of the dog bite, Robinson was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on multiple charges including Resisting and Assault III, in addition to his felony warrant for Fail to Appear on the charge of Theft II, and his misdemeanor warrant for Fail to Appear on the charges of Assault, Violating Conditions of Release, Criminal Trespassing, and Resisting.

During the K9 track, another patrol officer was within the perimeter covering a nearby residential area at W 30th Avenue and Arctic Boulevard when she noticed a suspicious adult male walking away from the area. The officer approached the adult male for questioning and it was discovered that he had a felony warrant. The officer took the suspect into custody without incident.

He has been identified as 41-year-old Eugene Bourdon III and was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on his existing warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
