Firearms ID card & permit to purchase applications for South River residents are now being submitted online at njportal.com/NJSP/fars. The form for consent to mental health background check must still be submitted in person by the applicant to the South River Police Department Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm. This form must be submitted unsigned as it is required to be signed in person at the police department.
The South River Police Department ORI to be used by South River residents when completing the online application is NJ0122300. Upon submitting the request online, first time applicants will need to print out a fingerprint form and follow the directions provided for fingerprinting.
