Advisory

Cold storm Wed-Thur, Feb 20-21 could bring hazardous road conditions

A very cold and windy storm system is expected Wednesday night and Thursday, February 20-21, with scattered showers, a potential for isolated thunderstorms, brief heavy downpours, and small hail. Snow levels are expected to drop to 1500 feet, including the potential for a rare dusting of snow in the Santa Monica Mountains and coastal foothills.

Motorists should allow extra time and be prepared for hazardous driving conditions due to wet, possibly icy roads, particularly in the canyons, as well as reduced visibility and gusty winds. During heavier rain periods, motorists should be aware of possible rock and mud slides.
