Ramon Eusebio arrested after striking a woman and taking her purse.

At 5:11 AM on February 15, 2019, Anchorage Police responded to the 4300-block of Spenard Road in reference to an assault.  An America’s Best Suites employee had called Police Dispatch and stated a woman had walked in and claimed she’d been assaulted.  Officers arrived and made contact with the adult female victim who stated she had been outside and walking to her room at the Barratt Inn when a male named Ramon approached her and accused her of having someone else’s cell phone.  The victim stated she did not know what Ramon was talking about.  She stated Ramon then attempted to pull her purse off of her shoulder.  When the victim refused to let go, Ramon struck her twice in the face.  When the victim released her grip, Ramon pushed her to the ground and went through her purse.  When the victim threatened to call the police, Ramon left the purse behind and ran towards the Barratt Inn. The woman gave Ramon’s physical description and stated he frequents the Barratt Inn.  She did not know Ramon’s last name.

Officers responded to the Barratt Inn, and with the help of a front desk employee, was able to ascertain which room Ramon was in.  Police knocked on the door and two males came out.  They stated Ramon had just jumped out of the window and that police were welcome to go inside and look.  Officers noticed the bathroom door was closed.  After knocking on the door, a male came out who matched the suspect description given by the victim.  The male gave a name that was not his own.  After the man was handcuffed and walked through the Barratt Inn lobby, another employee identified the man as Ramon.  With the help of APD Dispatch, the arresting officer was able to ascertain the suspect was 28-year-old Ramon A. Eusebio.

Eusebio was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on a felony Probation Violation warrant.  He was additionally charged with Robbery II, Assault III, Theft IV, and False Information.
