Specialized Enforcement Division & deputies arrest an attempt murder suspect after two hours of negotiation

SUSPECT: Cory Bailey, 40 years old, resident of Yermo

SUMMARY:
On Sunday, February 17, 2019, deputies from the Barstow Sheriff's Station responded to a residence in the 35000 block of Daggett Yermo Road in Yermo regarding a shooting. When deputies arrived, they learned a victim had been shot by Cory Bailey after an argument which occurred at Bailey's residence. Bailey was initially uncooperative with deputies and refused to exit his residence. Members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Specialized Enforcement Division arrived to assist with the investigation. Deputies established a perimeter around Bailey's residence and made several PA announcements in an attempt to gain Bailey's compliance, and after approximately two hours, Bailey exited his residence and surrendered without incident.
Bailey was transported to High Desert Detention Center where he was booked for Attempted Murder and is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail. The victim was treated and released from Barstow Community Hospital.
