Snow Emergency in anticipation of tonights forecasted snowfall amounts

The City of Mitchell is declaring a snow emergency effective at 5:00 a.m Wednesday, February 20th. All vehicles shall be removed from Snow Emergency Routes or they will be subject to ticket and towing. NO PARKING will be allowed on Snow Emergency Routes until after the storm is over and the streets have been plowed curb to curb.
This is in anticipation of the forecasted 2-4” of expected snowfall overnight into the early morning hours. The City of Mitchell Street Department would like to let you know that IF snowfall amounts overnight reach two inches that the City crews will be starting to remove snow at 5:00 am on snow emergency routes in town followed by east/west and then north/south streets. Please consider removing all vehicles from emergency snow routes this evening.
