Snow/sleet/icy mix to affect evening commute on Wednesday, please use caution while driving
The North Brunswick Office of Emergency Management advises residents to use caution while traveling during the evening commute on Wednesday as a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will cause slippery conditions on area roadways.
A general 2-4 inches of snow and sleet is forecasted to accumulate. Snow will develop in the 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. timeframe and will become steady shortly thereafter. Moderate to even heavy intensity will cause pavements to cover. Snow will continue during the afternoon hours before changing to sleet/ice pellets between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Sleet will then change over to freezing rain during the late evening and early overnight hours resulting in a coating to .10” of ice. A changeover to plain rain will occur as temperatures rise above 32 degrees early Thursday morning.
The good news is that once the storm passes, temperatures will rise into the 50s on Thursday.
