The San Leandro Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in helping locate 63 year old Gloria Lee, who has been missing from her San Leandro board and care home since 4:00PM, Monday afternoon.
Ms. Lee recently moved to the board and care home located in the 300 block of Juana Ave. in San Leandro, where she has been living since January. She has the ability to leave on her own, but should have returned by 8:00PM tonight. Her family is concerned for her well-being, as not returning on time is out of the ordinary for her.
“We have dedicated all of our available resources to finding Ms. Lee, and have been searching stores, restaurants and open businesses for her for the past few hours,” stated Lt. Robert McManus. “We are concerned for her safety, due to the cold weather. We have also alerted public transit agencies, local hospitals and neighboring law enforcement agencies,” he said.

Citizens play a critical role in creating a safe environment by observing and reporting any suspicious or criminal activity to the police. The San Leandro Police Department recommends that citizens do not participate in any direct verbal or physical involvement with suspicious persons or those engaged in the commission of crimes. Personal safety of our community is paramount. We encourage the San Leandro community to record the details of what they observe and to report those details to the police. This type of community involvement and partnership has proven to be a very effective crime prevention tool. Citizens act as the eyes and ears of the community first, and the extended eyes and ears of the San Leandro Police Department. Thank you for being a force-multiplier in our efforts to provide professional police services and safety to the community.
