NARRATIVE:
On February 13, 2019, at approximately 8:07 P.M., the Pomona Police Dispatch Center received the call of rapid gunfire in the area of Gibbs and Alvarado. Officers assigned to the Pomona Police Department's Patrol Division responded to the shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located multiple large caliber spent shell casings. Based on the initial information received, patrol officers authored a search warrant and focused their search on two of the apartments where the shell casing were located. Unfortunately, at that time, the search did not produce a weapon or suspect.
On today’s date, the Pomona Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit began conducting follow-up investigation related to the original call for service. Patrol Division provided the Special Investigation Unit with video surveillance that depicted physical characteristics about the shooter. Based on the new information received, the Special Investigations Unit was able to identify the shooter and her residence. The Special Investigations Unit used investigative tactics which included under cover surveillance, to locate the suspect at her residence.
The Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force, augmented by officers from the California Highway Patrol’s Baldwin Park Area Office, took over the surveillance duties from the Special Investigations Unit. A short time later, the suspect was observed walking from her residence out towards Gibbs Street. The suspect was contacted and detained. The Major Crimes Task Force prepared a search warrant for the suspect’s residence and vehicle. During the search, members of the Major Crimes Task Force located a high-powered, short barrel, large caliber assault weapon, with a large capacity magazine and other evidence related to discharging the firearm. The investigaton is currently still on-going. Suspect PRATCHER was arrested for the charges listed above and booked into the Pomona City jail.
