On February 13th, 2019 at 8:57 p.m., the Newport Beach Police Department (NBPD) received a call from the Irvine Police Department (IPD) requesting a welfare check at 36 Palazzo in Newport Beach. IPD was in contact with an adult male at the emergency room of the Irvine Medical Center.
NBPD responded to 36 Palazzo to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, Officers observed indications that further investigation was necessary. Officers subsequently found three deceased people in the residence. Two adult females and one adult male are the deceased.
At this time, NBPD Detectives and Crime Scene Investigation personnel are conducting an active homicide investigation. It appears that all the involved parties were known to each other and there is no ongoing threat to the area. The adult male from the emergency room is being detained for further investigation.
