Narrative:

On February 11, 2019, deputies from the sheriff’s Ojai Station responded to multiple 911 calls regarding shots fired in the 4200-block of North Ventura Avenue near the city of Ventura.  Deputies determined a disturbance occurred between the victim and (S) Allison McBride-Ennis, during which McBride-Ennis struck the victim on the head with a wrench, threatened to kill the victim, and stole an item of the victim’s property.

The victim followed McBride-Ennis as she left the residence and got into a vehicle with (S) Nicholas Kelley and (S) Henry Palacios-Sosa, who had been waiting outside. Prior to the three suspects driving away, Kelley used a firearm to shoot at the victim. The victim was not struck by gunfire, but he was treated at a local hospital for the injury he sustained from being struck by the wrench.

Over the course of the investigation, detectives obtained information that McBride-Ennis, Kelley, and Palacios-Sosa were possibly at the Grand Vista Hotel in Simi Valley, where deputies eventually located Palacios-Sosa and (P) Anais Garcia outside the hotel.

Detectives contacted McBride-Ennis and Kelley inside a room at the hotel.  McBride-Ennis was safely removed from the hotel room, but Kelley remained inside the room and refused to comply with detectives’ orders. During a brief standoff, deputies fired a less-lethal bean bag shotgun at Kelley to gain his compliance. Kelley surrendered to deputies and was taken into custody. Kelley was treated by medical personnel from the Ventura County Fire Department and at a local hospital prior to being booked in jail. During the standoff, officers from the Simi Valley Police Department also assisted deputies at the hotel.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the hotel room and vehicles associated with the crime. During the execution of the search warrant, a firearm believed to be used in the crime and other evidence related to the incident were found.

McBride-Ennis was arrested for felony counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Robbery and Criminal Threats. Her bail was set at $110,000.00. Kelley was arrested for one felony count of Attempted Murder and his bail was set at $520,000.00. Palacios-Sosa was arrested for one felony count of Accessory to a Crime and his bail was set at $10,000. Investigators determined that Garcia was not involved in the initial incident, but she was arrested for an unrelated narcotics violation and outstanding warrants out of Los Angeles County for felony counts of Manslaughter, Attempted Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Her total bail amount was set at $1,135,000. All four arrestees were booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and are scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on February 14, 2019.
