Snow Emergency Declared for Saratoga Springs in Preparation of February 12, 2019 Winter Storm

A snow emergency has been declared in the City of Saratoga Springs by Department of Public Works Commissioner Anthony “Skip” Scirocco in preparation for the upcoming winter snow storm. The snow emergency takes effect at 9:00 am on Tuesday, February 12, and will be in effect until 9:00 am Thursday, February 14. During a snow emergency, all vehicles must be moved to a cleared or plowed area every twelve hours. City streets with alternate side parking are not impacted and cars should be moved as previously posted.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning indicating the potential for heavy snowfall and sleet throughout Tuesday and Wednesday.

“DPW is prepared to handle the conditions this storm might bring, but we do need the public’s help by moving their vehicles to cleared spaces after the plows have removed snow,” said Scirocco. “I also ask everyone to travel cautiously and to be extra careful around DPW crews as they are working in difficult and often unpredictable conditions.”

City residents can report snow removal issues to the Department of Public Works by calling DPW dispatch at 518-584-3356.
