The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Crockett County in western Tennessee... Weakley County in western Tennessee... Dyer County in western Tennessee... Gibson County in western Tennessee... Benton County in western Tennessee... Obion County in western Tennessee... Lauderdale County in western Tennessee... Carroll County in western Tennessee... Central Haywood County in western Tennessee... Northern Madison County in western Tennessee... Henry County in western Tennessee... Lake County in western Tennessee...

* Until 830 AM CST Tuesday.

* At 223 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated moderate rain over West Tennessee. Rainfall amounts in excess of 2-3 inches over several hours since yesterday has resulted in excessive runoff on already saturated soil. Water may continue to rise in some areas even though rain will gradually begin to diminish over the next several hours. Rainfall amounts up to one inch are possible over the next 6 hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jackson, Dyersburg, Martin, Union City, Brownsville, Paris, Humboldt, Ripley, Milan, McKenzie, Trenton, Huntingdon, Camden, Fulton, Paris Landing State Park, Reelfoot Lake State Park, Fort Pillow State Park, Fairview, Tiptonville and Newbern.

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
