On 02/11/2019, at approximately 1:00 PM, Sonoma Police deputies were dispatched to the report of a physical assault at Depot Park, located at 284 1st West in Sonoma. The victim called 9-1-1 reporting he had just been attacked by a male named Seamus. The victim requested an ambulance and stated he was bleeding after being punched and kicked by the suspect.
The victim indicated the suspect had left on foot towards the Sonoma Plaza and he provided the call taker with a physical description of the suspect, to include the clothing he was wearing. Sonoma Police deputies began canvassing the area for the suspect while the victim received emergency medical treatment from Sonoma Valley Paramedics who arrived on scene.
During the canvass for the suspect, an alert deputy located a male subject walking through the Safeway parking lot who matched the description provided by the victim. The deputy attempted to contact the subject verbally by name, but the subject immediately ran, cutting through traffic across West Napa Street, and into the parking lot of the Sonoma Market. Sonoma Police deputies converged the area, but momentarily lost sight of the suspect. Within minutes, the suspect was seen again fleeing on foot and he ultimately surrendered to Sonoma Police deputies in the area of West Napa Street and 5th street West.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Sonoma Valley Hospital where he was medically treated for multiple facial injuries, hand injuries, and contusions. The victim was later released from the hospital.
The suspect was identified as 40 year old Seamus Glennon of Sonoma. Glennon was arrested on the charges of 245 (a) (1) PC (Assault with a deadly weapon) and 148 (a) 1 PC (Resist, Obstruct, Delaying Officer). Glennon was booked into custody at the Sonoma County Jail.
