IH #P19014312 – Storm Related Road Closure
Earlier in the morning Niles Canyon was closed due to mud slides and a vehicle accident, all from the result of the heavy rain.  The canyon was cleared, but later in the afternoon another mud slide occurred, blocking the roadway in both directions with mud, and large boulders.  Cal Trans was notified and gave a three to four hour ETA to remove the boulders and mud from the roadway.  A support line for a PG&E power line was also damaged.  PG&E was contacted and they too responded to repair the support line.  A Nixle notification was pushed out regarding the closure.  At 4:25 p.m., the canyon had been cleared and opened.

#031 Residential Burlglary
CSO Schwartz investigated a residential burglary on Grand Lake Dr. where a significant amount of jewelry and cash were taken.

#038 DUI Arrest
Officer Paiva was dispatched to a male passed out inside a vehicle. A 30 year old man is contacted and found to be intoxicated and on probation for DUI. He is arrested for DUI.

#027 Trespassing
The McDonalds on Grimmer Blvd. reported an on-going issue with a 65 year old man. Today the man was heavily intoxicated and chased an employee around the restaurant. Officer Paiva arrested the man for trespassing.

- Safeway at the Hub: Transient standing near the business doors and yelling at customers.
- Walgreens Mowry: Transient trespassing and shouting at customers.
- Irvington Community Center: Transient subject punching vehicles in the park parking lot.

#043 Dispute/Gun-call
Officers responded to the 3000 block of Decoto Road to an initial response of a dispute between roommates. The reporting party then advised his roommate was in the backyard with a firearm. Officers responded with expedited response. Upon their arrival, it was difficult to obtain a statement from the reporting party as he was heavily intoxicated. Units established a perimeter of the home. Due to the fact we could not verify if the suspect was still in the residence, a total of 9 individual residents were directed out of the house with some hearing an argument, and no confirmation of any firearm involved. The roommate who allegedly brandished the weapon left the scene prior to police arrival. None of the other residents could provide a name for this roommate. The evacuated residents believed they were safe and simply wanted to return to the home.

#001 Domestic Battery/Possession of Marijuana for Sales
Officers responded to a residence on the report of a family disturbance.  During the course of the investigation, officers observed the suspect, a 26 year old man, drive back into the area. They contacted him and he was subsequently arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery. During the contact, officers located marijuana in plain view of the suspect’s front passenger seat. A total of 5 pounds of marijuana was seized and the suspect received charges of possession of marijuana for sales. 

#002 DUI Arrest
Officer Trzewieczynski was patrolling the area of Fremont Blvd/ Walnut Avenue when he noticed a vehicle having difficulty maintaining lanes, then remained stopped on a solid green light. The vehicle drove at normal speeds and then pulled off into the neighborhood of Beloit Street/ Country Drive.  When Officer Trzewieczynski rounded the corner, the vehicle was unoccupied with open beer bottles on the floorboard. A pair of shoes was also left near the accelerator pedal.  A search of the area was conducted and Officer Degenstein located a subject hiding in the bushes of a nearby residence, barefoot. The 24 year old man was arrested for DUI.

#004 Resisting and Vandalism Arrest
Officer Degenstein, Officer Soper and Sgt. Sanchez were dispatched to the 7-11 Mission/Niles to a report of a subject who barricaded himself inside the Employee Only stock room. Announcements were made for him to exit but the subject refused. Officers forced entry into the closet and detained a 24 year old adult man. The man vandalized a significant portion of the supply closet. He was arrested for resisting and vandalism.

#019 Resisting Arrest
During a traffic stop in the area of Mowry Ave and Paseo Padre Pkwy., Officer Snow witnessed a woman  jaywalk across Paseo Padre Pkwy from Whole Foods market.  Officer Snow attempted to stop the female to provide her with a citation.  The woman, later ID’d as a 19 year old, refused and attempted to walk away.  Officer Snow detained the woman and she resisted.  She was eventually placed into handcuffs and booked at the Fremont Jail for resisting arrest.

#045 Auto Burglary Arrest
While numerous units were tied up with a missing person search, a witness called 911 after watching two suspects breaking into a car at Clubsport gym. The witness stayed on the phone and helped guide Officers into the parking lot. Officer Manrique detained three suspects as they reentered the suspect vehicle. Two 20 year old men and an 18 year old female were taken into custody without incident. A replica revolver, stolen laptop, and loss from numerous other auto burglaries that night were located in the car. At least seven auto burglaries occurred at Clubsport and adjacent parking lots. Detectives responded to assist coordinating the investigation and interview suspects.  This was a great team effort by all in disrupting a prolific burglary crew.

- Motel 6 south: Intoxicated transient pushed a victim who was out walking her dog.
- 46000 Mission: Transient trespassing at a business and refused to leave.

#022 Battery/Vandalism
Several customers at the Walmart Store on Albrae called in a transient acting aggressive towards customers. Officer Gourley contacted a 44 year old adult man and learned he punched a customer in the face and kicked another victim’s car door.  The man went to jail for battery and vandalism.

#035 Stolen Vehicle Arrest
While working traffic enforcement at Mission/Pine, Officer Manrique’s vehicle received an LPR hit for a stolen vehicle that just passed him. Officer Manrique located the vehicle on Mission Blvd near Ohlone College. A high-risk stop was conducted and a 46 year old was arrested without incident.

#051 Auto Burglary Arrests
Shortly after an auto burglary occurred at Marina Market in Warm Springs, detectives located a suspicious vehicle casing the parking lot of Ranch 99 south. Before the suspects were able to commit a burglary, a high-risk stop was conducted and two suspects were detained. Loss from the earlier auto burglary was recovered in the vehicle. Two 18 year-olds were arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property.

#054 Stolen Vehicle Arrest
Believing that one stolen vehicle arrest wasn’t good enough, Officer Manrique located another stolen vehicle after it passed by a community camera LPR. Officer Manrique caught up to the stolen vehicle on N/B I880 near Mowry. The vehicle almost immediately fled and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit went into a residential neighborhood in Newark where the suspect foot bailed. Officer Manrique located the 32 year old trying to hide under a car and took him into custody.  We appreciated the assistance Newark PD provided to assist with the arrest.

#005 Commercial Burglary
Officers responded to the 42700 block of Christy Street to a report of a commercial burglary in progress. Security advised there were two subjects via video surveillance who were loading items from a business into their vehicle. Multiple units responded to the area. Officer Degenstein located the vehicle driving away and a felony car stop was conducted. Two subjects were directed out and detained. They were later identified as scrappers. Security for the business advised they simply wanted the subjects never to return and were issued a notice of trespass. Case investigated by Officerr Maniego.

#017 Robbery - Estes
Officer Ramsey was dispatched to a retail store at the Fremont Hub in reference to a robbery.  A suspect attempted to steal several items then fought security when confronted.  The suspect was described as a black male adult in his 40’s, wearing a black hoodie.  He was last seen fleeing in a green Acura with a female. 

#018 Warrant Service
Officer Berrier contacted a 37 year old man near the area of Mowry Avenue and Blacow Road foran FMC violation. He was taken into custody for a $20,000 misdemeanor warrant. He was
transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
 
#010 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Stolen Property and Methamphetamine Arrest
Officer Meredith contacted a 35 year old man in front of a residence on Logan Drive.  A probation search of his person revealed a meth pipe and a small amount of methamphetamine. A Lenovo ThinkPad laptop
stolen out of Newark was found during a search of his vehicle. He was arrested and transported to Santa Rita Jail.

#022 Battery Arrest
Officers were dispatched to a battery at Bed Bath & Beyond at the Fremont Hub. It was learned that a 37 year old woman struck a security officer in the face after he found her sleeping and asked her to leave. She was taken into custody for battery after the security officer made a private person’s arrest. She was transported to and booked at the Fremont Jail.

#025 Possession of a Concealed Dagger
A male was reported to be walking around the outdoor shopping center at Thornton Avenue east of Dusterberry Way while holding a knife. Officers located the 20 year old man in the shopping center
and arrested him for being in possession of a concealed dagger. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail.
