Police Make Arrest in Early Morning Robbery

Shortly after midnight on February 5th, 2019, Fairfield patrol officers responded to a reported robbery in the 1000 block of Oliver Rd in Fairfield. The victim reported being robbed of his property by two suspects after the victim attempted to call police due to the vehicle collision the group was involved in. While the victim was attempting to photograph the vehicles and call police, the male suspect began to violently assault him and steal his personal property. The male suspect, along with a female suspect then fled the scene in their vehicle.

The victim was able to provide a description of his attackers, description of the vehicle and license plate on the vehicle. Patrol officers searched for the suspect vehicle and ultimately located it later that day. 21-year-old Fairfield resident Victoria Mendes was identified as the female suspect and taken into custody. Patrol officers then went to her residence in the 3000 block of North Texas Street to further investigate. There the officers located 20-year-old Fairfield resident Isaiah Getty-Matthews. He was identified as the male suspect in the robbery. Getty-Matthews was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun during his arrest.

Detectives drafted a search warrant for the residence, and once signed by a judge, searched the residence for evidence associated to the robbery. Detectives were able to locate evidence from the robbery along with a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine.
Mendes was arrested for robbery, while Getty-Matthews was arrested for the robbery, illegal weapon violations and possession of a firearm with controlled substances. The case has been referred over to the Solano County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of the charges and prosecution.

We’d like to commend the victim on his bravery during this incident and his ability to gather enough information to identify the suspects so the police could arrest them.
