Two female suspects in custody for various charges including package theft and vehicle theft.

RELEASE DATE:  February 7, 2019
 
SUBJECT:  Two Suspects in Custody for Package/Mail Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, and Driving a Stolen Vehicle.
 
On February 7, 2019 at approximately 12:49 pm, San Marino Police Officers responded to 2300 block of Ridgeway Road regarding a package theft that had just occurred.  The victim was able to provide officers with a description of the suspect and vehicle utilizing her Ring doorbell surveillance system.  While searching the area, a second victim called to report a package theft in the 2100 block of Adair Street.  The description of the suspects appeared to be the same in both thefts.  At approximately 1410 hours, San Marino Detectives observed a vehicle matching the description in the area of California and Winston.  A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and the two occupants were contacted.  During the investigation, San Marino Police Officers were able to identify stolen property that was positively identified by numerous victims in San Marino.  The two occupants in the vehicle were arrested.
 
They were later identified as 25 year-old Lynwood resident, Veliz, Emily and 24 year-old Lynwood resident, Pule, Maria.  Veliz is currently on parole for PC 459/Burglary.
 
Veliz and Pule were transported to Alhambra Jail for booking and housing for the following charges:
 
PC 487/Theft
PC 496/Possession of Stolen Property
PC 148/False Info to a Police Officer
CVC 10851/Stolen Vehicle
H&S 11364/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

If anyone was expecting a package recently and did not receive it, please contact Detective Cordischi above.  We have several items which were possibly stolen from the area.
