POMONA POLICE CONTINUE ENFORCEMENT ON ILLEGAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES WITH THE SERVICE OF THREE MORE SEARCH WARRANTS

NARRATIVE:
On 02/07/19, the Pomona Police Department's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) executed three more search warrants in a string of warrants against criminal marijuana dispensaries operating throughout the City of Pomona. The SIU has made it a priority to rid the City of these illegal businesses. This is the 13th search warrant the Police Department has served on illegal marijuana dispensaries in less than a month.
These locations have been contacted numerous times by Pomona Code Enforcement in an effort to educate the owners about the violations of operating a business without a permit. These locations refused to comply with the city’s request to cease the illegal activities. Although the use of marijuana is legal in the State of California, the sales of Marijuana is illegal within city limits. These investigations are sensitive and all administrative efforts to stop the activities are exhausted before Police action is taken.
During the service of today's search warrants, the Special Investigations Unit recovered in excess of 50 pounds of marijuana and marijuana products. The criminal cases will be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, Pomona Office for review.
