Winter Weather Advisory until 10:00AM Friday

* WHAT...Light mixed precipitation, wind gusts of up to 45 to 50 mph potentially leading to ice-covered branches breaking, freezing of wet roadways, and wind chills around 20 below zero.

* WHERE...Boone, McHenry, DeKalb and La Salle Counties.

* WHEN...Light mixed precipitation late this afternoon, strong wind gusts late this afternoon through early overnight, freezing of wet roadways late this afternoon through Friday morning, and wind chills of 20 below zero late tonight through Friday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions may impact the evening commute and possibly Friday morning's. Gusty winds could bring down ice- covered tree branches resulting in power outages. The strong winds will also result in difficult travel, especially for high profile vehicles on north to south roads. Unsecured objects outdoors will be blown around. The cold wind chills around 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
