On February 5, 2019, at 5:59 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a stranded motorist on County Road 1250 South near County Road 50 East. Upon arriving in the area Deputy Ben Kiesel located a Black 2015 Chevy Equinox. Upon approaching the vehicle he identified the driver as 36 year old Justin Skelton of Haubstadt. While speaking with Mr. Skelton Deputy Kiesel saw drug paraphernalia laying out in plain view inside the vehicle. At that point Deputy Kiesel began a roadside drug investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation Mr. Skelton was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Skelton was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated/Prior Refusal. He remains in custody on a $750 bond.

Assisting Deputy Kiesel in his investigation was Sergeant John Fischer.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
