Freeze Warning until 09:00AM Wednesday
The National Weather Service in Hanford has upgraded the Freeze Watch to a Freeze Warning for late tonight into Wednesday morning.
* MINIMUM TEMPERATURES...27 to 32 degrees. Sub freezing temperatures will most likely occur outside of the major urban areas for a period of 4 to 8 hours.
* TIMING...The coldest temperatures are expected between 2 am PST and 8 am PST. A repeat occurrence of sub freezing minimum temperatures is likely in the coldest areas of the valley Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS...Freezing temperatures could kill sensitive vegetation and damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
* AFFECTED AREAS: SOUTHWESTERN SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY ... WEST-CENTRAL SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY ... SOUTHEASTERN SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY ... EAST-CENTRAL SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY
Instructions:
Remember the three P's when it comes to protection from harshly cold temperatures...Pets, Plants and Pipes. Bring your pets indoors, cover sensitive outdoor plants and insulate water pipes with protective tape. A Freeze Watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
