Coroner officials have confirmed the human remains found in a remote area are those of missing person, Krystie Stuart

LOCATION: County area of Apple Valley
VICTIM: Krystie Stuart, 29 years-old of Lucerne Valley
SUMMARY:
On January 24, 2019, human remains were located by two hunters in the county area of Apple Valley. Detectives from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, and investigators from the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Division, responded to the remote area northeast of Fairview Valley to recover the remains.
On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office confirmed the remains were those of Krystie Stuart.
Krystie Stuart went missing from Apple Valley on March 2, 2015, after leaving her home in Lucerne Valley for an appointment in Apple Valley. On March 8, 2015, her pickup was located, unoccupied, in the desert area north of Apple Valley, approximately 2.5 miles from where her remains were located.
After Krystie’s disappearance in 2015, detectives conducted three searches for her utilizing search and rescue teams and aviation. Since her disappearance, the investigation has been ongoing. The cause of death will be released once determined by the San Bernardino County Medical Examiner.
On Friday, February 1, 2019, from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm, personnel from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, with the assistance of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Departments Aviation Division and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Search and Rescue, canvased the area northeast of Fairview Valley where the remains of Krystie Stuart were recovered. Additional remains were located and were turned over to the custody of the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Division for further investigation.
