Hit & Run Felony driver in Compton. Male adult legally crossing the street struck by a dark colored sedan. Front-end damage.
 
Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 8:46 PM, a fatal injury felony hit and run traffic collision of a pedestrian occurred on Wilmington Avenue just north of Stockwell Street, Compton.
 
The 19 year old male Hispanic adult was walking east bound across Wilmington Avenue in a marked crosswalk just north of Stockwell Avenue when he was struck by the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled north towards El Segundo Boulevard and out of the witness view.
                                         
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored mid size sedan. Most likely this vehicle has extensive front end damage to the windshield and hood and possibly the front bumper, its radiator grill and the roof. 
 
UPDATE: According to a witness the vehicle is a newer model Burgundy Kia Forte with paper plates that read ‘Cerritos’. The driver of the vehicle was a younger looking male Hispanic, no further description or updates.   
 
This collision is still being investigated by the Compton Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit. We are asking for the public’s help in solving this terrible crime.
