The NWS has issued a WIND CHILL WARNING for the City from 6:00 pm tonight thru 3:00 pm 1/30/19

WIND CHILL WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 3 PM
CST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low
as 30 below zero expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Missouri and south central
and southwest Illinois.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 3 PM CST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The cold wind chills could cause
frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Instructions:

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and
strong winds will create dangerously low wind chill values. This
will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia or death if
precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors, be
certain to dress properly, with several layers of light-weight,
loose fitting clothing and making sure that all exposed skin is
covered.

A WIND CHILL WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN A STRONG WIND COMBINES WITH VERY LOW TEMPERATURES TO CREATE LIFE-THREATENING CONDITIONS. THE COLD AIR AND WIND WILL MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO OR COLDER FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THOSE PLANNING TO VENTURE OUTDOORS SHOULD BE CERTAIN TO DRESS PROPERLY. WITH SEVERAL LAYERS OF LIGHT WEIGHT LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING AND MAKING SURE THAT ALL EXPOSED SKIN IS COVERED.
