Advisory

UPDATE: SNOW EMERGENCY IS CONCLUDED.

The snow emergency for the City of Sheboygan will end as of 7 AM Tuesday, January 29th.  After a reported 15 inches of snow fell in Sheboygan since Sunday evening, Sheboygan Police and Department of Public Works plowing crews worked to clear streets overnight Monday, and this involved the towing of additional vehicles which were plowed in and parked illegally.

In all, Sheboygan Police responded to more than 130 vehicles that were parked in violation of the snow emergency restrictions, and approximately 50 of those vehicles were moved by owners with the remainder being towed to allow for plows to clear the streets.  There were dozens more vehicles which were moved as residents noticed police addressing vehicles on their street, and their cooperation in making way for snow removal is appreciated.

The Sheboygan Police Department also appreciates that drivers were cautious in the poor conditions yesterday.  Just five crashes were reported since the beginning of the storm on Sunday night.

Please remember that with the dropping temperatures and residual snow cover on the streets, conditions will remain slippery in many places until temperatures warm up later in the week.  Leave plenty of room for the vehicle in front of you and keep your speeds low.  Thanks for your help ensuring safe streets for all!
