Castaic/ Val Verde: Public Safety Report for January 14, 2019 - January 20, 2019

The following crimes were reported:

1/14/19 
Burglary- 31000 block of Castaic Road
The victim reported the front glass door to their business was shattered to gain access to cash register. There was $100 in U.S. currency reported stolen. The crime occurred in the early morning hours.

The victim reported the front glass door to their business shattered and the cash register targeted. There was $150 in U.S. currency reported stolen. The crime occurred in the early morning hours. 

1/14/19 

Vehicle Burglary- 31000 block of Castaic Road
The victim reported the passenger window of his truck broken and a briefcase stolen. The crime occurred in the morning hours. 

 

**TIP FOR BUSINESS OWNERS**

Crooks look through the windows of windows to see where the cash registers are, and how easy it is to get to them. Leave the drawers of the cash register open and then if you have the cash drawer itself come out then take it out and prop up toward the front of the store so crooks can see there's no money in them. It will send the message there's nothing worth breaking in for.
