NARRATIVE:
On 01/23/19 through 01/24/19, the Pomona Police Department's Special Investigations Unit, Detectives Bureau, City of Pomona Code Enforcement and Agents from the California Department of Tax Fee Administration executed five search warrants over a two-day period at known criminal marijuana dispensaries. These dispensaries are operating illegally within the City of Pomona.
These locations have been contacted numerous times by Pomona Code Inspectors in an effort to educate the owners about the violations of operating without a permit. These locations refused to comply with the city’s request to cease the illegal activities. Although the use of marijuana is legal in the State of California, the sales of Marijuana is illegal within city limits. These investigations are sensitive and all efforts to stop the activities are exhausted before Police action is taken. During the investigation of the locations the teams recovered in excess of 36 pounds of marijuana, 374 pounds of marijuana products and $19,118 in illegal funds seized. Three arrests was made in conjunction with the service of the warrants. The criminal cases will be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, Pomona Office for review.
