Folsom Detectives arrest suspected burglar and recover stolen guns

Detectives from the Folsom Police Department recovered 5 stolen handguns, 2 stolen rifles, an illegal assault rifle and stolen electronics from a home in Roseville on Wednesday, January 23, 2018.  The search warrant, in the 1100 block of Salmon Drive in Roseville, was the result of follow up investigation after a December 21st burglary to a home in Folsom.  An item taken in that burglary were also found in the home.

Firearms from a 2017 Folsom burglary were also among those recovered. Several electronics that detectives suspect were stolen, were recovered from the home. Detectives arrested Nha Dao, 33, of Roseville for possession of stolen property, possession of an assault weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, and child endangerment.  Dao was booked into the Placer County jail for those violations. A booking photo of Dao is attached.

Detectives tracked down the suspect through the use of surveillance cameras, credit card records, e-mail and Internet address records. “Although Mr. Dao escaped the day of the burglary, he did not escape justice” said Detective Reid Camp of the Folsom Police Department.

Detectives will refer Dao to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution for burglary for the Folsom burglary.  Detectives are following up to determine if Dao is responsible for any additional burglaries.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Camp at [email protected] or 916-934-8788.
