Flood Warning until 02:30PM Friday

Opequon Creek near Martinsburg affecting Berkeley and Jefferson Counties The National Weather Service in Sterling Va has issued a

* Flood Warning for The Opequon Creek near Martinsburg.

* From Thursday afternoon until Friday afternoon.

* At 1 PM Wednesday the stage was 4.4 feet and steady.

* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by mid-afternoon tomorrow and crest near 11.4 feet by early Friday morning. The river will fall below flood stage by Friday morning.

* Impact...At 11.0 feet...Water begins to cover backyards of homes on Bowers Road (County Road 1/1). Douglas Grove Road (County Road 9/16) is flooded and impassible. Water also approaches Golf Course Road (County Road 36) and Grapevine Road (County Road 9/14).

* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.6 feet on Aug 22 2018.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BERKELEY, WV ... JEFFERSON, WV
