Pursuit Leads To OWI Arrest

On 01-21-19 at 1:32 a.m., Janesville Police Department Officers responded to N. Wright Rd. / Greenwood Dr. for a check welfare incident. It was reported that a subject was passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in traffic.

Officers arrived and found the subject, later identified as Mory Moore, still passed out in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was running and in drive with Moore pushing on the brake. Officers observed marijuana in plain view and woke Moore. Moore woke up and the officers could see he was extremely impaired by alcohol or drugs. Moore eventually fled from officers in the vehicle. Due to Moore’s impaired state, the officers initiated a pursuit. The pursuit ended when the subject crashed into a house near the intersection of Castlemoor Dr. / Huntinghorne Dr. The subject was taken into custody as he tried to run from the accident scene. The subject did not sustain any injuries.

Mory Moore was arrested for OWI 1st, Fleeing an Officer, Obstructing and was cited for other traffic offenses. Moore was held at the Rock County Jail on a Probation warrant.
