Flood Warning until 05:21AM Monday
Opequon Creek near Martinsburg affecting Berkeley and Jefferson Counties Heavy rains and snow melt have caused the creek to rise rapidly. It will likely reach flood stage later today. The National Weather Service in Sterling Va has issued a
* Flood Warning for The Opequon Creek near Martinsburg.
* From this afternoon until late tonight.
* At 8 AM Sunday the stage was 8.4 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by mid-afternoon today and crest near 10.8 feet by early this evening. The river will fall below flood stage by late this evening.
* Impact...At 11.0 feet...Water begins to cover backyards of homes on Bowers Road (County Road 1/1). Douglas Grove Road (County Road 9/16) is flooded and impassible. Water also approaches Golf Course Road (County Road 36) and Grapevine Road (County Road 9/14).
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.6 feet on Aug 22 2018.
* AFFECTED AREAS: BERKELEY, WV ... JEFFERSON, WV
