On Saturday January 20, 2019 at approximately 02:00am Officer’s Machado and Orsi were dispatched to the 3000 block of N. Texas Street for the report of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in front of a business for an hour. The individual working inside the business was concerned and called Fairfield Police Department to check on the occupants.
As the Officers approached the vehicle they could see it was occupied by two males sitting in the front cabin of the SUV. In plain view the Officers noticed narcotics paraphernalia and a large knife in the center console. As the front passenger was being removed from the vehicle Officers could feel him tense his arms. As soon as the passenger stood a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun dropped to the ground. The passenger in the vehicle was attempting to conceal the illegally possessed firearm in-between his legs.
Arrested was 24 year old Vallejo resident Homero Solorio. Solorio was booked into Solano County Jail for numerous weapons and narcotics violations including, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of illegal narcotics, and narcotics paraphernalia.
The Fairfield Police Department and its Officer’s rely on the information we obtain from alert citizens, who are willing to contact our 911 Dispatch Center to report such activities. Fortunately no one was injured during this incident and we were able to remove another illegally possessed firearm from our Community!
