THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ISSUES WINTER STORM WATCH FOR BERGEN COUNTY FROM MIDNIGHT SATURDAY UNTIL 6PM SUNDAY

A large winter storm will move into the area late Saturday evening and continue through early Sunday afternoon. Total snow accumulation is expected to be 3 – 6 inches. Snow will mix with rain and freezing rain on Sunday morning, which can cause a layer of ice from 1/10 to 1/4 inch thick. Temperatures will rapidly will drop into the single digits and in some areas below zero with the wind chill Sunday night. This will cause a rapid freeze up of all untreated areas. The Monday morning commute will be extremely hazardous and slippery.
