Advisory

BTPD provides briefing on weekend storm.

The BTPD and Bordentown Township Office of Emergency Management issue the latest briefing in regards to this weekend’s impending storm.

A significant storm is expected to track across our region late Saturday into Sunday.  The specifics with regards to precipitation types in wintry mix zones remains uncertain, however the threat of significant icing has migrated further south toward the I-95 corridor.

Currently, mostly rain is expected south of the I-95 corridor near the coast.  A significant accumulation of snow will likely fall across the Poconos, Berks County, the Lehigh Valley and northern New Jersey.  Winter Storm Watches have been issued for those areas.

Across the Lehigh Valley and into central New Jersey including alone the I-95 corridor, ice accumulation could occur in addition to snow.
Preparations should be underway for various winter weather hazards and consider limiting travel and outdoor activities late Saturday and Sunday.

Late Sunday and Monday arctic air will rapidly overspreads the region with strong gusty winds. This is expected to result in a flash freeze of wet and/or slushy surfaces.  Wind chills will drop to single digits or below zero in many areas by Monday morning.
