January 7

Residential burglary – 800 block of Sea View Dr:
At 7:30 am, an officer reports the victim was inside their residence when they saw an adult males running through their backyard. When the victim confronted the male, he dropped the victim’s property and then got into an awaiting vehicle. The male was likely the same suspect officers had contacted earlier in the morning.

Vandalism – 1700 Liberty St:
At 11:08 am, an officer reports that sometime of overnight, an unknown suspect smashed out the rear passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle, ransacked the interior but did not take any property.

Auto Burglary – Kearney Street and Schmidt Lane:
At 1:02 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect attempted to break the front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect, unable to shatter the front window proceeded to shatter the rear window.

Grand Theft – 10200 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 12:54 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the tires and wheels from a parked vehicle.

Auto Burglary – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 3:43 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed out the front driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a backpack.

Grand Theft – 3020 El Cerrito Plaza
At 6:42 pm, an officer reports two suspects entered the business and stole several cell phones which were on display.

Auto Burglary – 10636 San Pablo Avenue:
At 7:53 pm, an officer reports the window of the victim’s vehicle was broken and a bag containing a laptop computer was stolen.

Auto Burglary – 10680 San Pablo Avenue:
At 8:03 pm, an officer reports the window of the victim’s vehicle was broken and a bag containing a laptop computer and other property was stolen.


Possession of Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia – Kearney St / Central Ave:
At 12:16 am, an officer contacted a 48-year-old man during the check of a closed business and found the man was in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The man was arrested and released at the scene with a citation.

January 8

Residential Burglary – 7400 block of Park Vista:
At 6:51 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s backyard and stole two bicycles from a shed.

Residential Burglary – 7110 block of View Dr:
At 1:48 pm, an officer reports four unknown suspects shattered a rear sliding glass door to the victim’s residence and entered. The suspects were frightened off when the alarm to the residence sounded. A neighbor saw the suspects fleeing on foot, get into an awaiting vehicle and leave the area.

Auto Burglary – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 4:32 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed the rear driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack containing an iPad and glasses.

January 9

Domestic Battery – 1700 block of Arlington Blvd:
At 5:59 am, officers were dispatched to a residence where a male and female were engaged in an altercation. Officers arrived on scene and determined the victim had her head slammed against a door by her boyfriend, a 33-year-old male. The victim’s son, protecting his mother, assaulted the 33-year-old male prior to police arrival. The male was booked and then taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto burglary – 11800 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 8:22 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a backpack. The suspect was seen by a store employee prior to the burglary.

Auto burglary – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 9:08 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a bag containing a laptop.

Vandalism – 10944 San Pablo Ave:
At 9:06 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle with an unknown object. No property was taken from the vehicle, but the vehicle had been rummaged through.

Auto Burglary – S.55th St. and Cypress Ave:
At 10:47 am, an officer reports while a postal employee was on his route, an unknown suspect removed two parcels from a USPS vehicle and fled the area.

Stolen Vehicle – 5900 block of San Diego St:
At 2:41 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect took the victim’s 1993 Nissan pickup truck from the driveway.

Residential Burglary – 1700 block of Manor Cir.
At 6:41 pm, officers were dispatched to a report of a residential burglary. Officers learned an unknown suspect had gained entry into the home by breaking a rear sliding glass door sometime earlier that day.

Shoplifting – 11687 San Pablo Ave
At 7:10 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the business, selected several cases of beer and fled without paying.

January 10

Auto Burglary – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 5:56 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered a window on the victim’s vehicle and removed clothing and work items.

Hit and Run – Cutting Blvd / San Pablo Ave:
At 6:49 pm, officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident with injuries and the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash.

Auto Burglary – 8000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 7:57 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed a window on the victim’s vehicle and removed clothing and access cards. The victim later learned her card had been used at a grocery store in a nearby city.

Shoplifting – 11319 San Pablo Ave:
At 8:08 pm, an officer reports and unknown suspect entered the business, selected several items and left without paying.

Drunk in Public – San Pablo Ave / Central Ave:
At 12:38 am, an officer located a 34-year-old man walking down the middle of the road heavily intoxicated. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Drug Paraphernalia – 8600 block of Terrace Dr:
At 5:06 am, officers were asked to assist the fire department with a fire call where the residents were refusing to exit the home. Officers entered the home to confirm everyone was out and located a makeshift contraption used to extract THC from marijuana. Officers subsequently arrested a 43-year-old resident. The ECFD determined the fire was caused by charging a large capacity battery for a scooter.

January 11th

Shoplifter – Lucky’s, 1000 EC Plaza:
At 2:32 pm, an officer was report writing in his patrol car when he was flagged down about a shoplifting that just occurred with employee’s chasing the suspect. He located a 27-year-old male from San Francisco who was wearing a backpack filled with various stolen non-prescription allergy medications. There was a slit down the middle of the backpack that provided access for him to steal and secrete items into the pack. He was booked and cite released.

Battery – San Pablo Ave. / Madison Ave:
At 5:00 pm, an officer responded to the report of two motorists involved in a road rage incident, cutting each other off and speeding. One of the occupants of the vehicle exited her vehicle and subsequently punched the victim in the face. After punching the victim, the suspect fled in a black Ford Festiva.

Warrant – Central Avenue / I-80:
An officer pulled over a vehicle for a vehicle code violation and discovered the driver had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested, booked at ECPD, and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving Under the Influence – Liberty Street / Central Avenue:
At 2:03 AM an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle and discovered the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for DUI, booked at ECPD, and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

January 12th

Auto Burglary - 2100 block of Kearney St:
At 9:41 am, an officer was summoned on the report of an auto burglary. In between 1/11/19 at 7:30 am and 9:30 pm, an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a vehicle window. The suspect then stole three of her suitcases and fled.

Auto Burglary – 6009 Potrero Avenue:
An officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. The victim told the officer that someone had pried open a tool box in the bed of his pick-up truck and stole tools from inside. A review of the surveillance footage revealed the theft occurred at 11:20 PM the night before.

Driving Under the Influence – Potrero Avenue / S. 52nd Street:
At 1:54 AM an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation and discovered the driver was driving while intoxicated. The driver was arrested, booked at ECPD, and then released to a family member.

Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Avenue / Waldo Lane:
At 2:35 AM an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation and discovered the driver was driving while intoxicated. The driver was arrested, booked at ECPD, and released to a friend.

January 13th

Stolen Vehicle – 6900 block of Waldo Ave:
At 8:57 am, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between January 12th at 4:00 pm and this morning at 8:57 am, an unidentified suspect stole a black Honda Accord.

Grand Theft, Bed Bath and Beyond - 6000 EC Plaza:
An officer responded to the report where a suspect stole the victim’s purse while she was shopping. Total loss was purportedly $12K in jewelry which she had just picked up from being serviced at a jewelry shop.

Burglary, 1200 block of King Dr:
At 4:09 pm, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. It appeared the suspects entered through a back window. Once inside, the suspects conducted a heavy ransack. The burglary occurred between 12/28/18 and the 13th.

Auto Burglary – 10636 San Pablo Avenue (24 Hour Fitness):
An officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. The victim told the officer between 5:30 PM and 8:20 PM someone smashed a window to his vehicle and stole his wallet and cellular telephone.

Auto Burglary – 5900 block of San Diego Street:
While on patrol at 4:53 AM an officer located a vehicle with two shattered windows. The officer contacted the owner of the vehicle at his house and found that the burglary occurred between 12:00 AM and 4:53 AM when the officer located it. The victim was unsure if anything was stolen from the vehicle.

January 14th

Auto Burglary - Richmond St. / Fairmount Ave:
At 10:50 am, an officer was flagged down regarding an auto burglary. In between 8:00 pm on January 13th and 10:30 am, an unknown suspect shattered the window of a vehicle and stole several items.

Grand Theft - Auto Imports, 11280 San Pablo Ave:
At 12:35 pm, an officer responded to the report of a theft. In between 6:00 pm on 01-12-2019 and the 14th at noon, an unknown suspect stole a catalytic converter from a Ford Excursion.

Petty Theft, 11755 San Pablo Ave:
At 1:09 pm, an officer responded to the report of a 911 disconnect. An employee reported finding an unknown male unbolting his catalytic converter. The suspect ran to a red vehicle and left the scene.
