Sunday, January 6, 2019
Assault and Battery
Location: 3500 Block of El Camino Real
An officer was dispatched to a motel on the 3500 block of El Camino Real regarding a female subject refusing to leave the motel and causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officer attempted to make contact with the subject. The subject refused to answer the door. After numerous attempts, the officer utilized a hotel key to gain entry. The subject refused to leave. She was arrested for trespassing and processed at the Police Building. Meanwhile, housekeepers gathered the subject’s belongings and placed them at the front desk.
At approximately 1140 hours, the subject returned to the motel to retrieve her belongings. The motel staff provided the subject with a cup of coffee while she was waiting. The subject requested a room key, demanded a refund, yelled at the motel staff and threw the hot coffee at the employee. Officers were summoned to return to the motel. The subject was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Monday, January 7, 2019
Petty Theft
Location: 3000 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard
Public Safety Dispatchers were advised that a female suspect was detained in a business on the 3000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard.
Upon arrival, the officer met with Loss Prevention personnel regarding a suspect who exited the store without paying for $904.39 in merchandise. While Loss Prevention personnel were searching the suspect for the stolen items, two controlled substances and drug paraphernalia were located. She was arrested.

Tuesday, January 8, 2019
Drug Arrest
Location: Richard Avenue and Lafayette Street
An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Lafayette Street with a rear brake light out and expired registration. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop. The vehicle was occupied by two males. The officer conducted a Records check and learned the driver was on two grants of formal searchable probation and the passenger had a no-bail arrest warrant. A search of the passenger yielded a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested.

Residential Burglary
Location: 100 Block of Brookside Avenue
Public Safety Dispatchers received a call regarding a prior residential burglary on the 100 block of Brookside Avenue.
Upon arrival, an officer learned an unidentified suspect(s) located a garage door opener inside an unlocked vehicle on the driveway. The suspect(s) used the device to enter the garage and steal the vehicle inside. The keys were inside the vehicle. At the time of the report, it did not appear the suspect(s) stole any other items.
The suspect(s) remain at large.

Thursday, January 10, 2019
Resisting / Obstructing
Location: El Camino Real and Buchanan Drive
An officer conducted a registration check on a vehicle traveling on El Camino Real. The return revealed the registration was expired. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop. As the vehicle pulled over, the passenger door opened and a male suspect fled northbound on foot. While doing so, the suspect dropped an unidentified item on the ground. Public Safety Dispatchers were advised of the situation and deployed additional officers to the scene. A perimeter was established.
Meanwhile, the female driver began to flee southbound from the vehicle. After the officer delivered verbal commands, she stopped and put her hands in the air. A Records check revealed the driver did not have a driver’s license or insurance. She was arrested.
The male suspect was not located. It was later determined, the item the male suspect dropped was a fixed blade knife.

Threats
Location: Instagram
A juvenile posted a photograph with a handgun and vague threat on social media. Officers made contact with the juvenile at a local school. The juvenile was unarmed. Contact was also made with the juvenile’s parents.

Dear High School Community,
We want to inform you of a situation involving a high school student and which many students, families, and staff are becoming aware of through conversation and social media. According to the Santa Clara Police Department, an implied threat not directed to a specific person or a school was made by a high school student on social media. The Santa Clara Police Department conducted an immediate and thorough threat assessment and determined through their investigation that there is no threat to any individual or school site and that there is no safety concern for our schools. Student safety is our number one priority. Harassment, bullying, intimidation, discrimination, and threats of any kind are not tolerated. Both Santa Clara Unified and our local partners in law enforcement take these situations very seriously. All laws and board policies are followed and can include potential student discipline and criminal consequences.

Warrant Arrest
Location: 3200 Block of El Camino Real
An officer observed an occupied vehicle in a motel parking lot on the 3200 block of El Camino Real. A registration check revealed it was expired. A Records check of the vehicle’s owner indicated he had an active misdemeanor warrant out of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
