Learn Simple Techniques to Outclass Your Competition!

Learn Simple Techniques to Outclass Your Competition!

The Amazing Shake, created by the Ron Clark Academy, has arrived at Fairfield PAL (Police Activities League) as part of our local Community’s Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) in partnership with Solano County Public Health.  The Amazing Shake is a competition that puts students' business etiquette to the test by competing in interview and conversational obstacle courses.

To help members prepare, the PAL Center will feature weekly workshops utilizing the American Academy of Etiquette’s Manners to Go curriculum, Gallup’s Strength’s Based Leadership, the Strong Interest Inventory, and others.  Workshops will cover eye contact, posture, how to make introductions, networking, table etiquette, the art of the handshake, personal branding, goal setting, and more.  The next workshop will be on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 5:00p.m.  The first round of the Amazing Shake will take place on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 5:00pm in conjunction with Fairfield/Suisun Chamber of Commerce.  The student who scores the highest will receive a trophy and prize.  The top 10 will be invited to participate in the final round.  The Amazing Shake is open to any PAL member.

The Fairfield PAL Program is open to Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis students ages 13-18. Memberships are $10 per year and can be purchased at the Fairfield Community Center (1000 Webster Street) Mon-Thurs between 11:30-5:30pm. The PAL Center is located at 2195 Union Ave in Fairfield. Scholarship may be available for students who need them by calling the PAL Center during hours of operation.

The Fairfield PAL program offers Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis teens a place to grow, learn, and build the skills they need today and in the future. The PAL Center offers teens a safe environment, supports working families, and helps students achieve by giving them opportunities right now. The center is open Mondays – Thursdays between 3pm and 9pm and Fridays from 3pm until 10:30pm.
