Enforcement Results: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

As part of state & national efforts to help keep roadways safe for all travelers, Middleton Police officers arrested four impaired drivers during the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiative from December 14, 2018 through January 1, 2019.

While the focus was on impaired drivers, here is a breakdown of enforcement actions taken by our officers during this initiative:

Total Enforcement Hours – 38
Traffic Stops – 77
Total Citations Issued – 31
Total Warnings Issued – 47
OWI’s – 4
One felony arrest for Threats to Law Enforcement

Impaired or reckless drivers endanger everyone & are a tragedy waiting to happen. Although we make arrests & write citations as warranted, our primary goal is to encourage voluntary compliance with laws that are in place to help keep everyone as safe as possible.

There is never a safe time to drink & drive & we ask everyone to please consider the deadly consequences of their actions before getting behind the wheel. Remember: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, every day of the year.
