Fatal Collision on East Travis Blvd 
On January 10, 2019 at 6:39AM The Fairfield Police Department received several calls regarding a male subject who was lying in the street on East Travis Blvd near Chamberlain Drive. Patrol officers arrived and believed the male subject had been struck by a vehicle.
The Fairfield Police Major Accident Investigations Team (MAIT) responded and established a crime scene. East Travis Blvd was closed between North Texas Street and Kidder Ave until approximately 12:05PM while MAIT conducted their investigation.
The male struck by the vehicle, who suffered fatal injuries, was identified as 39 year old Ricky Acosta of Arizona. At ths time MAIT is investigating this as a hit-and-run collision and it is unknown what vehicle struck the victim and who was driving. The Fairfield Police MAIT needs the public's help.
