Community Advisory – Recent Robberies in the 2800-2900 block of Woodlane Dr.
Since December 20th, 2018 the Janesville Police Department has responded to three armed robberies in the 2800 to 2900 blocks of Woodlane Drive and adjacent area. We are providing this information to advise the public of these crimes, and to seek any information that citizens may have.
All three crimes have taken place after 11 p.m. and have the following similarities:
• The suspect was described as approximately 5’6” tall male black or hispanic, with a slim build.
He wore dark clothing, and concealed his face with a bandanna, ski mask or similar.
• Produced a handgun with a black frame and a silver colored slide.
• Two of the victims were struck in the head with the handgun during the robbery.
• The suspect confronted the victims while they were walking in the area and demanded their money, or property.
Citizens should be aware of these recent crimes, and take measures to protect themselves from becoming a victim:
• Consider walking in pairs
• Be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity to the police
