Flood Advisory until 09:30PM

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... St. Tammany Parish in southeastern Louisiana... Eastern Tangipahoa Parish in southeastern Louisiana... Washington Parish in southeastern Louisiana... Northwestern Hancock County in southern Mississippi... Pearl River County in southern Mississippi...

* Until 930 PM CST.

* At 722 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Around two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Slidell, Hammond, Bogalusa, Picayune, Covington, Franklinton, Poplarville, Pearl River, Abita Springs, Varnado, Madisonville, Folsom, Sun, Lacombe, Enon, Crossroads, Mount Herman, Wilmer, Stennis Space Center and Robert. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

* AFFECTED AREAS: TANGIPAHOA, LA ... WASHINGTON, LA ... HANCOCK, MS ... PEARL RIVER, MS ... ST. TAMMANY, LA

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
