The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small Streams in... Rapides Parish in central Louisiana... Beauregard Parish in southwestern Louisiana... Vernon Parish in west central Louisiana... Northwestern Allen Parish in southwestern Louisiana... Tyler County in southeastern Texas... Newton County in southeastern Texas... Hardin County in southeastern Texas... Jasper County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 830 AM CST Friday.

* At 834 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that 1 to 3.5 inches has fallen across the area. Several gauges on smaller creeks and streams indicate water levels above flood stage. Low spots and low water crossings are currently flooding. additional rainfall through the day will exacerbate the flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Alexandria, Pineville, Jasper, Leesville, Silsbee, Woodville, Newton, Kirbyville, Kountze, Rosepine, Merryville, Boyce, Anacoco, Colmesneil, Elizabeth, Chester, Singer, Rockland, Thicket and Sugartown. Additional rainfall amounts around 2 inches are possible in the warned area.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ALLEN, LA ... TYLER, TX ... JASPER, TX ... NEWTON, TX ... BEAUREGARD, LA ... RAPIDES, LA ... HARDIN, TX ... VERNON, LA
