Hard Freeze Warning until 09:00AM Wednesday
The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a Hard Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 9 AM PST Wednesday. The Hard Freeze Watch is no longer in effect.
* TEMPERATURES...Minimum temperatures at or below 27 degrees expected in many areas. In the normally coldest locations, thermometer readings may bottom out in the lower 20s while in the urban areas minimum temperatures should be just below freezing.
* TIMING...The coldest temperatures are expected between 3 am PST and 8 am PST. Temperatures of 27 degrees and colder are possible for a period of 4 to 9 hours in rural areas of the valley.
* IMPACTS...Long durations of well below freezing temperatures will kill unprotected vegetation. Exposed water pipes could burst. Pets and livestock will need warm shelter. Please check on the elderly.
* AFFECTED AREAS: SOUTHWESTERN SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY ... WEST-CENTRAL SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY ... SOUTHEASTERN SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY ... EAST-CENTRAL SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY
