French Broad River At Blantyre affecting Henderson and Transylvania Counties. French Broad River Near Fletcher affecting Buncombe and Henderson Counties. Heavy rain of 4 to 9 inches had fallen on top of already saturated soils is producing significant runoff within the French Broad River basin. Significant (Moderate) flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to the river between Brevard and Fletcher is ongoing. Flooding further downstream in the vicinity of Asheville and Marshall is improving. In many areas these river levels have not been seen in many years, in some cases as far back as September 2004. Moderate Flooding is significant flooding of farmland, campgrounds, parks, boat-access areas, and adjacent secondary and primary roads. Some structural flooding of homes, businesses, and outbuildings is likely. The Flood Warning continues for The French Broad River Near Fletcher.

* At 9:30 PM Saturday the stage was 16.9 feet. The river crested at 18.14 feet at 10:30 PM Friday.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Moderate flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river has fallen below moderate flood stage and will continue to fall to below flood stage by late Monday morning.
