Incident: Dog Owner arrested for cruelty to animal

Summary:
Petaluma Police Department officers were dispatched to the report of a woman kicking a small dog near Taco Bell on East Washington Street. Numerous witnessed contacted the police department to report the woman kicking and dragging the small dog as they walked westbound on East Washington Street.
Officers located Micki Jindra with the small dog in the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy. Based on the witness statements and request to make a citizen arrest, Jindra was arrested for 597(c) PC – Cruelty to Animals.
Petaluma Animal Control responded to the scene to take custody of the dog. Animal Control indicated the dog will be taken to a Veterinary office for a medical evaluation.
The Petaluma Police Department along with Animal Control want to thank the witnesses for their assistance with this investigation. Cruelty to animals is a serious offence and will be fully investigated.
