Suspect: Jeffrey Lamont Turner, 50 Petaluma
Incident Summary:
On December 28, 2018 at approximately 0546 hours, officers were dispatched to an alarm at M. Maselli & Sons Hardware. Upon arrival officers established a perimeter and began an interior search of the property. Officers heard a loud noise coming from a garage located in the recycling yard. Shortly after hearing the noise officers observed Jeffrey Turner running from the building. Officers detained Turner without incident. The business owner advised they did not know Turner and he did not have permission to be on the property.
Based on the investigation and interview with Turner it was determined he had accessed the recycling yard by climbing over a fence. Once on the property Turner searched through the tool box of a work truck and took a tow strap. Turner then entered a garage used for storing equipment. Turner admitted to entering the garage in search of items to steal. While inside Turner saw flashlights from outside and ran from the building where he was confronted by officers.
A record check revealed Turner is on felony probation for vehicle theft. Turner was placed under arrest for 459 PC- Burglary and 1203.2 PC- Violation of Probation. Turner was transported and booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
